Harry Shugart

Harry has over 36 years’ experience in the transportation industry, predominately in Rail.

Harry started his carrier in Rail with for the Florida East Coast Railway as a locomotive electrician, after he left the U.S.A.F. in 1981, he progressed through multiple departments including Finance, Transportation, Human Resources and Marketing.

In his Marketing role Harry has worked for the Florida East Coast Railway, Railamerica, Patriot Rail and the Genesee and Wyoming Railroad Services Company where he recently retired as the Director of Commercial Support.  In that role Harry and his team provided the pricing publications and marketing analysis for over 120 short-line railroads in North America.

During his career Harry has also worked outside of the transportation industry in the Insurance and Financial planning arenas.  He also has moonlighted as a licensed U.S. Coastguard Captain when time permitted.  He and his wife, Pelion, enjoy all outdoor activities including Fishing, Hunting, Golf and Gardening.
